- Lifelong North Dakota resident and a physician in Bismarck
- Military Veteran with a tour in Afghanistan and numerous service awards
- 23-year retired Lt. Colonel in the North Dakota National Guard
- Graduate of St. Mary’s High School and UND Medical School
- Served 9 years on hospital board of directors
- Raising five children with my wife, Amber
